大龄剩女张十河（殷桃 饰）是电视台时尚节目的编导，在接到老妈（彭玉 饰）要她回家过年的电话后，十河人马不歇地赶回唐山老家，一到家她就发现了端倪，年逾七旬的老妈找了个小自已十岁的老伴，兄妹四人很快达成了统一战线——坚决反对。老妈和她的黄昏恋老伴郑老头（张洪杰 饰）估计到了儿女们肯定反对，正犯难之机，十河打电话说要带大姐万美（王亚军 饰）的儿子董德（包贝尔 饰）、二姐千丽（赵珈琪 饰）的女儿嘉嘉（解惠清 饰）来看姥姥，老妈一下慌了神，赶紧打发郑老头快走。十河在楼下看到落荒而逃的郑老头，有些幸灾乐祸。众姐妹联合起来对付老妈，除夕夜都找理由不回家，老妈只好和郑老头吃了一顿孤独的年夜饭......。The screenplay follows the titular Horia, a cautious teenager living in a Romanian village, who is pining for his crush who lives on the other side of the country.
