Comedy about the proverbial genie who comes out of a bottle (a table lamp in this instance) to serve his new master. The only problem is that instead of helping his master, the genie (Burl Ives) tends to get his master (Tony Randall) into more predicaments than he gets him out of.。老查大叔这次被一个神秘组织招募，扮演了一个类似《用心棒》中三船敏郎的角色，暗中挑拨两伙毒贩火拼，结果发现自己被利用。 当然了，惹恼了老查的神秘组织也没好下场……。一个法国中年白领突然被炒了鱿鱼，但是还有一屁股的债和年轻的妻子。他撒谎说公司派他去伦敦了。在巴黎街头流浪的时候，他发现算命居然是一个很赚钱的行业。于是一个受欢迎的Irma夫人出现了。。
