(Jean-Luc Godard, 1985)。纽约私家侦探Hamberger，以食物店做他的办公室，富有的华尔街工业家Alex Burton用优厚条件雇用Hamberger杀他的太太，Hamberger把订金收下，却警告Alex的太太Sharon Burton离开。但Sharon Burton依然被杀，Hamberger成了嫌疑犯。侦查中Hamberger发觉这原是一个骗局，于是与警探协议给他四十八小时证明自己清白。。
