故事发生在上世纪五十年代的澳大利亚乡间，罗穆卢斯（艾瑞克·巴纳 Eric Bana 饰）和儿子雷蒙德（柯蒂·斯密特-麦菲 Kodi Smit-McPhee 饰）在这里过着相依为命的日子，贫瘠的环境和拮据的经济让父子两人的生活常常陷入无以为继的困顿之中，不仅如此，他们的母亲克里斯蒂娜（弗兰卡·波坦特 Franka Potente 饰）是一个毫无责任感的女人，常常离家出走，还和罗穆卢斯的好友米图（Russell Dykstra 饰）厮混在一起。 克里斯蒂娜腹中怀上了米图的孩子，可尽管如此，罗穆卢斯还是一心一意的为这他们的家庭劳作着，付出着。最终，克里斯蒂娜和米图之间的感情破裂了，她再度回到了家中，却在不久之后选择了自杀。。Roberto, a drummer in a rock band, keeps receiving weird phone calls and being followed by a mysterious man. One night he manages to catch up with his persecutor and tries to get him to talk but in the ensuing struggle he accidentally stabs him. He runs away, but he understands his troubles have just begun when the following day he receives an envelope with photos of him killing the man. Someone is killing all his friends and trying to frame him for the murders...。
