该片讲述1930年7月，毛泽东、朱德率领红一军团从汀州向长沙进军途中，来到高安，开展土地革命。高安女子学校的6名富家女子毅然放弃了家中的优越生活，决定参军，随后跟随着毛泽东、朱德、周恩来转战南北，参加长征，成为“巾帼英雄”的故事。。原本太平的青河镇如今被当地的地头蛇管辖着，他们到处惹是生非，砸坏老百姓的摊位，欺负良家妇女。他们还在青河镇的路口设置拦路标，只有给钱才可以放人通过，没有钱的穷人只能和畜生一样从阴沟里穿过。这天，两个年轻人经过青河镇，他们看到了拦路标后依旧无视，然后轻而易举就跳过栏杆。这样的行为让管辖者气愤不已，于是双方打了起来。后来才得知其中一人是自卫队的队长凌志高。他这次来青河镇究竟是为了什么？而青河镇的现状又会发生改变吗？。A documentary potted history of WW2, the novelty here is that most of the film has been "colorized".
